The donor has authorized Focus Humanitarian Assistance, USA (“FOCUS USA”) to collect the amount of the gift specified by the donor (and included in the confirmation email sent to the donor). FOCUS USA is authorized to draw electronic checks on the donor’s account, payable to the order of Focus Humanitarian Assistance, or other electronic payment methods as identified by the donor.
Acceptance of any contribution, gift or grant is at the discretion of FOCUS USA. FOCUS USA will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended with the purpose and mission of FOCUS USA.
No gift, whether outright or life-income in character, will be accepted if under any reasonable circumstances, the gift would jeopardize the donor’s financial security.
FOCUS USA does not provide advice on the tax or other treatment of gifts. Donors are encouraged to seek guidance from their own professional advisers regarding the tax deductibility of their gift.
FOCUS USA will accept donations of cash or publicly traded securities. Gifts of services will be accepted at the discretion of FOCUS USA.
Gifts of real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, non-liquid securities, and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted in some manner, must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the special obligations raised or liabilities they may pose to FOCUS USA.
FOCUS USA will provide a receipt to donors who choose to deduct their charitable gift on their tax return. However, except for gifts of cash and publicly traded securities, no value shall be ascribed to any receipt or other form of substantiation of a gift received by FOCUS USA.
FOCUS USA will respect the intent of the donor related to gifts for restricted purposes and those related to their desire to remain anonymous. With respect to anonymous gifts, FOCUS USA will restrict information about the donor to only those staff members with a need to know.
FOCUS USA does not compensate, whether through commissions, finders' fees, or other means, any third party for directing a gift or a donor to the Focus Humanitarian Assistance USA.
If the donor is contributing to FOCUS USA by auto draft or any other electronic payment method, the donor agrees that FOCUS USA’s rights in regard to such payment remains in effect until the donor revokes the payment in writing and FOCUS USA receives actual notice of such revocation.
If the payment method the donor chooses to use is declined in any way, for or without cause, and whether intentionally or unintentionally, the donor agrees that FOCUS USA shall be under no liability whatsoever.
