Collection of Information
FOCUS USA may ask for and collect personally identifiable information from you at various points throughout the site. Depending on the information and/or services you request, you may be asked to provide your name, email address, address, phone number, payment details, and similar information. Once you provide your personal information, you are not anonymous to FOCUS USA. You may opt out of email communications at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link that is included at the bottom of every email communication from FOCUS USA.
Security of Personal Data
Donor Data: FOCUS USA’s donor data is stored in a secure database and access to the database is limited to the Donor Services department, the Resource Development department and our authorized service providers. FOCUS USA will keep Donors’ personal information only as long as it is necessary to satisfy the purposes for which it was obtained, or as legally required. Access to Donor file materials containing personal information is restricted to FOCUS USA Staff and authorized service providers who need it to do their jobs.
FOCUS USA employs appropriate technical, physical and organizational security procedures to protect Donors’ personal information against loss, theft, unauthorized use, or disclosure. These procedures are monitored and reviewed at least annually and when needed to ensure their continued effectiveness. The safeguards employed by the FOCUS USA include, but may not be limited to, the use of limited access storage areas, locked files, and the use of encryption, secure servers, and computer workstation passwords. Appropriate measures will be undertaken when personal information is destroyed in order to prevent access or inadvertent disclosure to any unauthorized parties.
Use of Online information
FOCUS USA uses the information we collect about you to send you communications such as our e-newsletter and various printed publications or mail appeals, and to help administer and improve our web sites. We may share your information but do not sell our organization’s contact lists to third parties.

If you choose to provide your credit card information to FOCUS USA, we will use that information for the purposes for which it was provided only. FOCUS USA or our payment processors do not store your credit card information for future donations without your authorization. These measures make it more difficult for anyone to intercept the credit card information you send to us. When we work with other companies to process credit card transactions, those companies also use encryption and other security measures.
This Website is not directed toward children under 13 years of age nor does FOCUS USA knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not submit any personally identifiable information to FOCUS USA.
Your California Privacy Rights
If you are a California resident, you are entitled by law to request an Information Sharing Disclosure. If you provide notice to the address below, we will provide you with a notice of your right to prevent sharing of your personal information as well as a cost-free means of doing so. To receive such a notice, submit a written request to the address listed in the Access section below, specifying that you seek your “California Customer Choice Notice.” Please allow thirty days for a response.
