Instructor...
My wife and I have worked with the Sunset Church of
Christ for over 30 years now. We first went to India,
Hawaii and other places throughout Asia serving churches. We worked
with the Sunset's India City Evangelism program planting
churches all over India. We took a group of AIMers to
Kauai, Hawaii and started a church there in 1977.
Something close to 20 years were spent in India, we also
helped get the SIBI Branch School on Batam in Indonesia
started in 1998. In 1993 we started teaching one-half of each
school year at SIBI in Lubbock, the other half of the year
we worked to help stabilize the various works in India and
other places. In 1998 while working in Bangalore, India,
Tamara was diagnosed as having Typhoid fever and we
decided to come home for good. We began teaching full time
at Sunset and almost immediately Truitt Adair asked us (in
addition to teaching at Sunset) to head up the Focus
Northeast Program. In 2006 we expanded our outreach to
include some western states, we now call the program Focus
Northeast/Northwest. The courses I teach at SIBI and the seminars we offer
as we work with churches in the Northeast/Northwest USA are listed at:

Our primary efforts are three-fold: 1) To encourage
SIBI graduates to take their ministries to either the
Northeast or Northwest... America is the 3rd largest
mission field in the world, 2) To plant new churches in
the numerous urban areas of the NE/NW where none exist
and/or where there are new townships developing, 3) To
serve struggling (and yes even dying) churches prevelant
in both of these great regions of the nation.
We have had a part in helping plant 11 new churches in
the Northeast plus a Distance Learning School at Fall
River, Mass. This year Sunset International Bible
Institute will begin broadcasting its live classes at
Lubbock to a second Distance
Learning School, this one will be hosted at the Puyallup
Church of Christ building at 402-5th St., Puyallup,
Washington 98371, near Tacoma. In addition to this new
training facility there are several church plants being
considered, in particular one new church will have its
start in a suburb near Puyallup this fall.
The Lord has blessed our efforts and we give Him all glory
and praise.
